A Bridge Solution to Cross Railway in the Western Bay of Plenty


Western Bay of Plenty District Council required a replacement bridge to provide residential access over the railway line at Jess Road Whakamara. 21m long and 4.6m wide concrete hollow core bridge, designed to NZTA Bridge Manual, appendix D, 0.85HN load capacity.

The hollow core units provided ease of construction, an important factor as work was regularly halted due to the active railway line below.
