Jarlen Benioni

Jarlen brings over six years of experience in civil construction to the Bridge It NZ team, with a diverse background that includes fencing, decking, bricklaying, and dogman work. He’s also spent time in social services and youth work, and even gave shearing sheds a go - placing second in wool pressing at the Golden Shears competition. A hands-on, learn-it-all kind of guy, Jarlen isn’t afraid to try new things and push himself to succeed.

Raised on his grandparents’ farm just outside of Cambridge, Jarlen has a strong work ethic and a deep respect for the land and people. Once he sets his sights on something, he’s all in - always pushing his limits to reach the goal.

Outside of work, Jarlen is passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and spends most of his free time training and improving himself for grappling competitions. He also enjoys fishing, diving, gardening, and calisthenics-based training. Jarlen holds Tikanga Māori in high regard and strives to embody the values of his Tūpuna in how he lives and treats others. He’s also on the journey of learning Te Reo Māori and deepening his cultural connection.
