WORKING WITH COUNCILS

Bridge It NZ has been helping Kiwis access and enjoy local green spaces since 2009.

We specialise in building small to medium size bridges (6m-50m) to help unlock the value of your land, and we became a member of the New Zealand Parks Leaders Forum in 2017.

Our clients trust us because we build great bridges and boardwalks, are easy to work with, are mindful of the environment, and are a one-stop shop. We’ll take care of your entire project from start to finish including an initial on-site consultation, design, drawings, fabrication, installation and achieving code of compliance for your finished structure.

Our bridge designs are always sensitive to the environment. We look after the aquatic ecosystem below and cause as little disturbance as possible. Our ultimate goal is to find the best solution for your needs so we offer a wide range of bridges made from different high-quality materials.

Popular options for pedestrian bridges and cycleways include FRP bridges (Fiberglass Reinforced Polymers) which are strong, lightweight and durable. This composite material can handle the toughest environments and withstand almost all forms of vandalism including graffiti and fire. They’re also require minimal maintenance. FRP isn’t affected by moisture, rot, fungi or temperature so you can install it and let the community use it to their heart’s content.

Lightweight timber deck steel beam bridges are another good option to improve local access to a particular area, along with upright truss bridges and laminated timber bridges. There are plenty of options to suit your unique environment, requirements and budget.

Bridge It NZ also specialises in timber or FRP boardwalks which we’ve installed in lots of places around the North Island. Boardwalks are an attractive way to improve community access and get people out into the great outdoors. Get in touch with us if you’d like to find out more.

Here’s what some of our local government clients have to say

Hamilton City Council

As a public service organisation, we place a major emphasis on getting value for money for the investment we make on behalf of the ratepayer.

Working with Bridge It on this project delivered a cost saving for us which we were very pleased with. The company came to the table with some innovative ideas and solutions on a tricky site.

Bridge It’s work with our team gave us a great asset and an excellent result for our community.
