Meet the Bridge It NZ Team

Kim Bevins - Manager

Kim Bevins

As our Business Manager, Kim is heavily involved in our operations and project management. He strives to ensure a culture of continuous improvement so we can deliver the very best projects to our clients.

Kim grew up on a dairy farm in Putaruru and spent 17 years in the Airforce, based mainly at Whenuapai in Auckland. Life outside of work revolves around his four young children. Kim and his wife, Wendy, enjoy spending time at the beach, fishing with their kids and pottering around the house. While he is mad keen on nearly every sport, Kim’s found himself watching more sport than he actually gets to play at the moment.

Pat Seuren - Founder

Pat Seuren

Pat founded Bridge It NZ in 2009. He has now stepped back from the day-to-day running of the business but still has a keen involvement in the strategic direction of Bridge It NZ. His in-depth knowledge of construction methods and his innovative and practical approach to complex situations is responsible for our company’s hard-won reputation in the market. He remains excited about providing customers with quality bridges and enjoys visiting our installation sites on farms, forests and rivers throughout the North Island.

Having raised six children, Pat’s pastimes now include kite boarding and flying aircraft.

Craig is our astute Project Manager/Engineer. He enjoys working on a variety of bridges from inception to completion while getting to see some cool corners of New Zealand along the way.  His problem-solving skills are second-to-none and he ensures all our processes run as smoothly as possible from start to finish.

Originally from Cambridge, Craig and his wife are expecting their first baby in 2021. In his spare time (and when not on nappy duty) he enjoys fishing, diving, surfing and the outdoors in general.

Dan Batey - Sales Consultant

Dan Batey

Dan is our busy Sales Consultant who travels all over the North Island to meet with our customers. He spent seven years working in construction prior to joining our team. He is now enjoying learning a new skillset to better himself and grow his knowledge.

Dan spent his early years in Hamilton before moving to Papamoa with his family at age 12. Nowadays he and his partner have just bought their first home and together they enjoy running, biking, hiking, going to the gym, travelling and exploring. Dan also loves to fish, hang out with friends and learn new skills.

Jason Shallcrass - Operations Manager

Jason Shallcrass

Our Operations Manager, Jason, hails from the Bay of Islands. He enjoys working at Bridge It NZ because of the many challenges that come with building different bridges and structures. He first joined us in 2013 as a General Welder and has moved up the ranks to become one of our most trusted team members. He has seen our company grow and evolve as we’ve offered more bridge solutions to a greater number of industries.

When he’s not at work, Jason loves going to the beach or getting outdoors to hunt and fish.

Scott Linch - Site Supervisor

Scott thrives in challenging construction environments so is an ideal site Supervisor when our team are building bridges in remote spots. He is a former carpenter and enjoys the variety of work involved from site preparation through to final installation. He is vastly experienced, he also ensures our staff meet timeframes and produce the highest quality work for our clients.

Originally from the Waikato, Scott moved to Papamoa as a teenager and subsequently spent many years living at Whangarei Heads before moving back to the Bay. He currently lives on a rural lifestyle block in Whakamarama with his partner and several pets. He enjoys all the activities that this region has to offer; fishing, surfing, gardening, entertaining, motorsports and tinkering with vehicles in his spare time.

Waka Wickliffe - Site Crew / Operator

Waka is an important member of our Site Crew and is a skilled Excavator Operator. Seeing a bridge come together is extremely rewarding, especially as each design and each site is unique. He also enjoys travelling to different areas around New Zealand.

He is a father of five (four girls and one boy) with another baby on the way – and all of their names begin with the letter H! When he’s not at work, Waka enjoys diving and fishing around Tauranga and Whangamata.

Brendon Ross - Workshop Forman

Brendon Ross

Brendon is our supremely organised Workshop Foreman. He enjoys the challenge of new builds and being part of a cohesive team. He also takes great pride in helping to create structures that will endure for decades to come, and that allow people to move or access areas that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.

Having grown up in Whangarei, Brendon enjoys boating, diving and a variety of sports. He has three children in their late teens and early 20s.

Josh Laurenson - Precast Concrete Supervisor

Josh Laurenson

Josh’s expertise are in precast concrete formwork, steel fixing and concrete placing, making him an invaluable member of our team. He is originally from Tokoroa and spent five years working in Western Australia. He now lives at Papamoa Beach and enjoys spending time in the surf as well as hunting, fishing and camping with his wife and dog.

Justin Shallcrass - Engineer / Site Crew

Justin Shallcrass

Justin is one of the youngest members of our team and is thriving in the workplace, having recently left school. He appreciates the opportunity to earn money and learn new skills, and currently splits his time between his engineering apprenticeship and being part of our site crew.

He is born and bred right here in Tauranga and enjoys gaming online during his spare time.

Shaun Mackie - Engineer

Shaun Mackie

Shaun is one of our Apprentice Engineers. He thoroughly enjoys his job, particularly the ability to fabricate something that is aesthetically pleasing while also allowing people to go where they couldn’t go before.

He was born in Tauranga but grew up in Hamilton. Family is a big part of his life and his relatives are spread far and wide so he looks forward to spending time with them whenever possible. Shaun is also a youth pastor at his local church and spends many hours restoring his old project mini.
